Remembering Pip Salvador-Jones

Colleagues from across the advice sector continue to pay tribute to Pip-Salvador Jones, late CEO of Citizens Advice Barking and Dagenham.

Pip Salvador-Jones passed away from cancer on 26th March 2026, after nearly 40 years working in advice and legal support agencies. She had been Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Barking and Dagenham since 2010.

Pip is remembered with fondness and admiration by all who knew her. Running a Citizens Advice service with limited resources in the London borough which has highest number of people on out-of-work benefits in the capital, and one of London's most deprived boroughs, is a huge task. In the face of significant challenges, she spearheaded new initiatives providing advice to individuals facing evictions, domestic abuse, and debt, including legal aid work. Pip was also Chair of the Barking & Dagenham CVS. Her leadership will be much missed.

Prior to joining Citizens Advice, Pip had been CEO of Mary Ward Legal Centre, and had worked as legal aid lawyer at Hackney and Lewisham Law Centres. She had also served as a Trustee of the Child Poverty Action Group, and as a trustee of other organisations in the free legal advice sector. She was in every way a trail blazer, a collaborator, and a fearless advocate for social justice.
