Standing with Londoners

Responding to this week's events - we stand with London's communities

London Citizens Advice is deeply concerned by the recent rise in community tensions and the threats of far-right violence that have emerged in our city. We stand firmly against all forms of hate, discrimination, and violence. London is a city built on diversity, tolerance, and mutual respect, and we must uphold these values in the face of those who seek to divide us.

Our primary commitment is to the safety and well-being of every person across our communities in London. We condemn any actions that incite fear or harm, and we urge all members of the community to remain united, resilient, and supportive of one another during these challenging times. It is more important than ever that we come together to promote understanding, dialogue, and peace. We’re proud of our goal to be an anti-racist service and are planning to increase messaging about hate crime reporting and advice on social media.

Please follow this link if you're affected by the far-right riots and racist attacks.

As a service rooted in local communities, we’ll continue to draw on our rich tradition of standing by people who need us, whoever they are. London Citizens Advice is here to support anyone who feels threatened or vulnerable. Our local services offer confidential advice and assistance to those in need, regardless of background, ethnicity, or beliefs. To find your local office, please use the tools at the top of this page.

We encourage anyone who has experienced or witnessed acts of hate or violence to report them to the relevant authorities and to seek support from our services. We are working closely with local authorities, community leaders, and other organizations to address these issues and to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all Londoners. Together, we can ensure that our city remains a place where everyone can live without fear and where diversity is celebrated as a source of strength.

Let us all remember that the true spirit of London is one of compassion, solidarity, and respect for one another. We call on all members of our community to stand together against hate and to continue building a city where everyone is valued and protected.
