London Citizens Advice Consortium
London Citizens Advice come together with shared vision.
At a special meeting of Chairs and Chief Officers, London's Citizens Advice charities have overwhelmingly voted to form a "London Citizens Advice" consortium.
Raj Kapoor, CEO of Citizens Advice Brent and Chair of the Citizens Advice London Steering Group said:-
"This is an important decision, as we can only tackle advice needs in the Capital by working together - whilst each local Citizens Advice is an independent charity, together we are more than the sum of our parts. The demand for Citizens Advice services is rising, fuelled by the cost-of-living crisis and issues like housing insecurity and affordability that have a huge impact across London. But at the same time, it's a tough environment to secure funding to keep our services going. The landscape is continually changing and so more than ever we need to pool our resources more, and work in partnership with the wider voluntary and community sector in London. Our strength is that we are locally based with deep roots in local communities, by collaborating more effectively across London we can enhance the support we offer to Londoners."
Notes
- Local Citizens Advice services across London have already been working in partnership for the past year and more - for example with our London Cost of Living Advice partnership. The decision to form a London consortium takes this commitment a step further to put a new structure into place to support Pan-London partnership working and collaboration, so a new London Citizens Advice organisation will now be launched with its own Board.
