Disability Benefits Reform - London needs a rethink.

Repsonding to the Department of Work and Pension's controversial Green Paper "Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working", London Citizens Advice have flagged that "There will be increased risk of unfair assessments if these proposals go ahead....the tighter eligibility criteria for Personal Independence Payments (PIP) will cause income losses for disabled Londoners."

London Citizens Advice submitted a reponse on the proposed controversial reforms to disability benefits builds on our initial reactions.

We are a champion for Londoners; as well as our advice, education and support offer through local offices, we provide a voice for low income Londoners and all who are facing challenges in their lives by working to influencing policies and support that affect clients. Our response to this Green Paper specifically focussed on London issues.

We have also supported the Mayor of London's call for a rethink and were quoted in the Mayor's press release.
